ICYMI: Representative Rose Hosts Telephone Town Hall

April 21, 2021

WASHINGTON—Last night, U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-6) hosted a public Telephone Town Hall, connecting with more than 1,500 Tennesseans in all 19 counties that comprise the Sixth Congressional District. Representative Rose gave an update on legislative priorities, discussed the proposed American Jobs Plan, explained actions needed to address the border crisis, and answered participant questions and comments.

"It was a privilege to speak with so many folks from Middle Tennessee and answer questions about my work representing them in Congress," Representative Rose said. "I often get the chance to talk with people I represent as I live, work, and raise a family in Tennessee, but telephone town halls are uniquely helpful by allowing constituents to participate from their own homes."

Rose took questions covering a gamut of issues from election integrity and his support of the Save Democracy Act to the ongoing crisis at our border, the cancellation of the Keystone XL Pipeline, and impeachment.

During the call, Representative Rose polled the audience regarding what should be the top priority of Congress this session. Of those who participated in the call and took the poll, 61% of respondents said securing our elections, 28% of respondents said defending our borders and improving the immigration system, and 11% of respondents said fiscal responsibility.

For future alerts on similar events, constituents should sign up for Representative Rose's email newsletter at johnrose.house.gov or like his Facebook page.

U.S. Representative John Rose is currently serving his second term representing Tennessee's Sixth Congressional District and resides in Cookeville with his wife, Chelsea, and their two sons, Guy and Sam. The Sixth District includes Cannon, Clay, Coffee, Cumberland, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Smith, Sumner, Trousdale, White, and Wilson counties as well as portions of Cheatham and Van Buren counties. Representative Rose is an eighth-generation farmer, small business owner, and attorney, and currently serves on the Financial Services Committee.
