Rep. Rose: Even Our Nation’s Largest City Cannot Sustain Biden Administration’s Open-Border Policies
WASHINGTON, DC—U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-06) spoke on the House Floor Friday to address the impacts of President Biden’s border policies on major cities across the country.
The full remarks, as prepared for delivery, are below:
Mister Speaker, I, like many Americans, thought when the Governors of Texas and Florida began transporting illegal immigrants to blue cities across the country – change would follow. It didn’t.
Last October, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, went to Mexico to send a message that there was, quote, ‘no more room in New York.” Even our nation’s largest city cannot sustain more than 100,000 illegal immigrants in less than two years.
Yet, the president has continued his open-border policies and his unprecedented catch and release operation. He and his administration also continue peddling the falsehood that our borders are secure.
Now, Mayor Adams is reported to have made arrangements to bus immigrants back to the border. There’s a reason for this. It’s not racist or anti-immigrant. It’s illegal and unsustainable. I stand with the many Tennesseans I represent who embrace legalimmigration.
