Rose Proudly Welcomes Honor Flight of Middle Tennessee

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Rose (TN-6) proudly welcomed twenty-seven veterans, including fifteen valiant patriots from Tennessee's Sixth Congressional District, to our nation's capital today for the Honor Flight of Middle Tennessee. When our nation called, these brave veterans answered.

"Today, it was my privilege to welcome fifteen veterans from the Honor Flight of Middle Tennessee and the Sixth Congressional District to Washington, D.C," said Rose. "These heroes represent the enduring greatness of America. It was an honor to offer our district's most sincere gratitude for their devotion, sacrifices, and service to the American people and the cause of liberty. We will forever be indebted to every brave man and woman who has faithfully served our beautiful country."

The Honor Flight was led by Claude Morse (USAF Ret.) and made possible by many community partners. Twenty-seven veterans participated in the one-day trip to visit the nation's capital to experience the memorials erected in appreciation for their service.

Veterans on the flight from Tennessee's Sixth District were: Earl E. Higley, U.S. Army; Jimmie M. Pritt, U.S. Air Force; Glenn Wade Bennett, U.S. Army; John Anthony Jones, U.S. Army; Billy R. McElhaney, U.S. Navy; C.M. Tosh, U.S. Army; Joseph P. Clark, U.S. Marine Corps; Daniel Lynch, U.S. Navy; William T. Cook, U.S. Navy; LeGrand Dawes, Jr., U.S. Marine Corps; James Franklin Shields, U.S. Army; Richard T. Sain, U.S. Air Force; John Wayne Pullen, U.S. Army; Bienveuido V. Hassell, U.S. Air Force; and Virgil C. Morgan, Jr., U.S. Navy.

Congressman John Rose represents Tennessee's Sixth Congressional District and resides in Cookeville with his wife, Chelsea, and their son, Guy. The Sixth District includes Cannon, Clay, Coffee, Cumberland, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Smith, Sumner, Trousdale, White, and Wilson counties as well as portions of Cheatham and Van Buren counties.
