March 17, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-06) is working to protect staff and constituents against Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). After consulting with the Attending Physician, House Leadership, and Sergeant at Arms, Representative Rose directed his Washington, D.C., staff to work remotely for the time being.

"My staff and I are in ongoing communication with health professionals and I have personally attended numerous briefings concerning COVID-19," said Rose. "Out of special concern for those at highest risk, I continue to closely follow the status of the Coronavirus. Although there are no reported cases of the virus in my district, we want to do everything possible to slow the spread. For those reaching out to my office with concerns over COVID-19, we suggest following CDC recommendations published at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov or call 800-CDC-INFO (800-232-4636)."

U.S. Representative Rose's staff members based in the Washington, D.C. office are working remotely effective Monday, March 16. Until further notice, district staff members will continue reporting to the Cookeville and Gallatin offices to assist constituents. It is recommended that individuals living in the Sixth Congressional District who need assistance from Representative Rose or his staff reach out via telephone or email and avoid visiting offices unless necessary. The Cookeville office can be reached at 931-854-9430 and the Gallatin office can be reached at 615-206-8980. For policy, press, scheduling, or other general inquiries, please continue to call 202-225-4231.

"Our communities are already dealing with devastating tragedy brought on by the recent tornadoes. Those affected by the storms deserve our best effort in preventing the spread of this disease, which could be uniquely difficult for those who are unable to be in their own homes at this time," Rose said.
