U.S. Rep. John Rose Cosponsors Bill to End Vaccine Mandate for Military Servicemembers
Washington, D.C.—U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-06) is proud to cosponsor H.R. 3860, filed by Rep. Thomas Massey (KY-04), that would prohibit government-mandated vaccines for members of the U.S. armed forces. The congressman continues to maintain that those who want to get a COVID-19 vaccine should, but the decision should never be forced upon anyone.
U.S. Rep. Rose released the following statement:
“President Biden’s intention to fire thousands of National Guard Service members at a time when the U.S. is facing serious threats around the globe will be harmful to America’s military readiness and the Tennessee National Guard’s ability to respond to natural disaster,” Rep. Rose said. “The institutional knowledge our Armed Forces will lose from these firings will be impossible to replace in the near term and dedicated service men and women will lose the honorable careers to which they have dedicated much of their lives. That is why I am proud to cosponsor H.R. 3860, which would prohibit any requirement that a member of the Armed Forces receive a vaccination against COVID-19. The president needs to stop putting partisan, left-wing politics ahead of our military’s readiness.”
U.S. Representative John Rose is currently serving his second term representing Tennessee's Sixth Congressional District and resides in Cookeville with his wife, Chelsea, and their two sons, Guy and Sam. The Sixth District includes Cannon, Clay, Coffee, Cumberland, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Smith, Sumner, Trousdale, White, and Wilson counties as well as portions of Cheatham and Van Buren counties. Representative Rose is an eighth-generation farmer, small business owner, and attorney, and currently serves on the House Financial Services Committee.
