Washington, DC—U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-06) took to the House Floor Thursday to speak in support of H.R. 288, the Separation of Powers Restoration Act of 2023. The legislation would modify the scope of judicial review of federal agency actions and allow courts to determine the constitutionality of an agency action, including whether it was made within their statutory authority.

Washington, DC—U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-06) took to the House Floor Wednesday to express support for H.R. 277, the REINS Act of 2023, which would require Congress to approve any major rules made by a federal agency. A major rule is defined as having an annual effect on the economy of $100 million or more, causing a major increase in costs for consumers, or including significant adverse impact on competition, employment, productivity, or innovation.

Washington, DC—U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-06) spoke on the House Floor Wednesday to criticize recent policies and regulations created to limit energy consumption of household stoves and appliances. Rep. Rose also spoke in support of H.R. 1615, the Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act, and H.R. 1640, the Save Our Gas Stoves Act.

Washington, DC—U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-06) spoke on the House Floor Tuesday in support of House Joint Resolution 44, legislation that would strike down a recent rule by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) relating to “factoring criteria for firearms with attached stabilizing braces”.

Washington, DC—Today, U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-06) welcomed an impressive group of summer interns for 2023. The intern class includes: Jackson Burdine of Lebanon, TN, Neill Kane of Lebanon, TN, and Cameron Legge of Chattanooga, TN. They will be assisting staff with constituent services, capitol tours, issues research, and more while working in the Congressman’s Washington, DC office.

Washington, DC—Today, U.S. Representative John Rose voted “Yes” on H.R. 467, the Halt Fentanyl Act, which would permanently classify fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I drugs under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) and allow law enforcement officials to continue seizing them at our borders and in communities across the United States.
